Happy Holidays Mr. Tanner,

I hope this letter finds you and our comrades well.  You may be wondering why I am writing instead of simply calling.  There are several reasons for this.  First, and most importantly the freak snow storm we experienced last night knocked down many of the citys phone lines.  Second, I have always considered letter writing a lost art and have always enjoyed writing them.  Third, I wanted to send you several photographs I have taken of this fine city.

I must admit that this training seminar our dear Mr. Travis sent me to, has not been nearly as bad as I believed it was going to be.  While the students are mostly over exuberant, like our dear Mr. Dunne, they are very willing to learn and I have made the acquaintance of several extremely talented fellow undercover agents.

Yet I still am slightly disappointed that I will not be able to join you gentleman for Christmas.  However, the greatest consolation to all of this is that Virginia, who was planning on joining us in Denver, is here with me.  As I told you, she works at the ATF office nearest the conference and I am spending Christmas at her amazing home.

Virginia and I have had a wonderful time so far this holiday season.  This is the first Christmas we have spent together since we have been reunited and I forgot how much I loved being in her company.  I hate to sound selfish, but I am somewhat glad Travis sent me out her, because now I get to have her all to myself.

I left the gifts you and our comrades under my desk, I do hope you enjoy them.  Again, I am sorry I cannot join you at Mr. Larabee's ranch for the festivities.  Send everyone my greetings, and Virginia send you all her love.  Now I must go, I promised I would help her trim the tree.

Yours, Ezra

and Virginia

Vin smiled as he imagined Ezra and Virginia let loose in Richmond.  God help that city, he thought.  The thought was almost enough to wipe away the sadness he felt that Ezra would not be joining them.  It would have been fun to have seen the two of them together, those two could absolutely drive Chris crazy.  Vin smiled again.  Maybe it was better for Chris's blood sugar level that they were spending Christmas several hundred miles away.
